Yeah, you read that right. Caramelized. Potato. Chips. Think caramel popcorn but instead of the popcorn its potato chips.
It’s a pretty easy recipe, I know that caramel can be a bit daunting, but it’s really just making sure that you don’t burn the caramel (which I did but that’s totally fine they still tasted great and nobody is perfect!) Once you finish phase 1 of this recipe (the caramel), you have to make sure you don’t burn the caramel and potato chips in the oven, unless you like that slightly burnt taste.
I used these chips for my Bourbon Ice Cream recipe, but you can use them for just about anything your little heart desires. The recipe makes a lot, so if you don’t want that many then cut the recipe in half. I had a bunch left and I had a box of brownies my Mom gave me so I made Caramelized Potato Chip Brownies. The brownies were Ghirardelli TRIPLE chocolate brownies which are amazing. I topped the brownies with the potato chips while the brownies were still warm straight out of the oven.
